SACME Membership
SACME members cite collegiality, the member listserv, relationships, lifelong learning, and research support/reports as the primary benefits they receive as a SACME member, according to the 2011 SACME membership survey. Membership is open to individuals from:
- Medical schools or faculties of medicine, accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
- Those at academic medical centers
- Medical specialty societies
- Teaching hospitals
- Schools of public health
- Schools of education
- Government agencies
- Other organizations whose research and any other educational objectives and activities are consistent with the mission of the Society
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Deans of Continuing Medical Education
- Directors of CME
- Program managers
- CME Coordinators
- Education researchers
Who Belongs to SACME?
SACME is enjoying its highest membership ever.
- Approximately 86% of members are from medical schools and academic medical centers.
- Approximately 10% are from medical specialty societies.
- More than one-third of members are physicians.
- Nearly another quarter of members have doctorate degrees (PhD/EdD).
- Nearly one-quarter of members have masters degrees.
