A Framework for Embedding Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) into CPD/CME Instructional Design (WA-03)
Thursday, May 25th, 2023, 10:00AM - 1:00PM Central Time
Workshop Registration Fee is $50 for all annual meeting registrants
Workshop Registration Fee is $100 for non-registrants of the annual meeting
In this workshop learners will learn how to use an equity and inclusion lens at each stage of the training design and development process. This framework uses the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model of instructional design to illustrate practical examples of what health equity and inclusion looks like in these stages. Learners are walked through each stage of the process and provided with opportunities to interact and apply aspects of the framework. This three-hour workshop will include an overview of the framework as well as small group discussions led by the facilitators that will provide an opportunity for learners to apply different pieces of the framework to practical examples and discussion on how the framework can be used in a learner’s own practice. Larger group discussions occur throughout the workshop, as well as after each small group discussion. Reflection activities are interspersed for learners to pause and consider the application of the material. This workshop is open to those who design, develop, and deliver CPD/CME. Learners will not be taught how to develop training, but rather how to incorporate best practices related to EDI into training.
