Virtual Research Roundtable Getting Started with Qualitative Research Methods Wednesday, September 17, 2025 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Eastern Time Free registration for SACME Members / $30 for Non-Members Event Overview The Virtual Research Roundtable (VRR) is a unique opportunity for individuals to deepen their research knowledge and connect with peers. This casual 1-hour webinar will feature a presentation by Nicolas Fernandez and will include: An introduction to epistemology and worldviews An overview of qualitative methods and how to select them Practical examples to illustrate key concepts Following the short presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, explore how the presented concepts can enhance their own research, and discuss potential collaborative opportunities with the presenter and other colleagues. Speaker Nicolas Fernandez Nicolas Fernandez is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal. He is also senior Researcher in the Faculty’s Continuing Professional Development unit, where he studies the longitudinal development of relational competencies among health professionals. His work focuses in particular on how experiential learning contributes to competency development.
