The SACME Scholarship Committee is pleased to host a virtual event on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 3:00-4:00 PM Eastern Time, where we will announce the successful applicant(s) for our current Phil R. Manning Research Award Grant competition, and where our most recent Manning grant holder, Dr. Joanne Goldman, will be presenting on her project, Strengthening the position of continuing education as a foundational element of quality improvement.

Joanne Goldman, PhD, is a Scientist at Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and at the Wilson Centre, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, and has an appointment at the Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation, University of Toronto. Joanne’s research program spans the fields of quality and safety of healthcare, health professions education, interprofessional education and collaboration, and qualitative health research.
