SACME 2026 Call for Abstracts CPD for All: Reaffirming Our Commitment to CME/CPD
The abstract submission deadline was Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Acceptance notifications will be sent mid-November 2025.

Calling all CPD/CME researchers and educators with a project, program evaluation, recently completed study, or upcoming publication to share. As part of our collective commitment to elevating CME/CPD, the SACME Program Committee invites you to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentations at the 2026 Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME) Annual Meeting, taking place March 22–25, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky. This meeting will be fully hybrid. SACME welcomes abstract submissions for both in-person and remote presentations, with sessions designed to engage a hybrid audience of attendees joining both onsite and virtually

Join us in reaffirming our shared dedication to excellence in lifelong learning by showcasing your scholarship, sharing lessons learned, and inspiring the community. The abstract selection committee will accept research and best practice submissions in the following types and categories:
Submission Types
During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to select your preferred presentation format. You may choose from the following submission types:

Oral Presentation
  • In-Person Presentation: Presentations may be delivered live, on stage, to a hybrid audience. Each presentation will be 8–10 minutes long, followed by a 2–3 minute Q&A session.
  • Remote Presentation: Presenters may also participate remotely. They will be asked to pre-record their presentation and be available to join a live video call for brief Q&A with the hybrid audience.
  • Registration Requirement: All oral presenters must register for the conference – in person registration if presenting in person, or virtual registration if presenting virtually.
Poster Presentation
  • In-Person Presentation: Poster presenters may present in person to a hybrid audience during an attended poster session. Each presenter will have 5 minutes to present their poster, followed by a 2–3 minute Q&A.
  • Virtual Presentation: Poster presentations may also be delivered virtually. Presenters should submit a pre-recorded 5-minute video presentation in advance of the conference.
  • Registration Requirement: All poster presenters must register for the conference – in person registration if presenting in person, or virtual registration if presenting virtually.
Either: Acceptance for Oral or Poster would be acceptable. 		Submission Categories
The abstract selection committee is accepting submissions in the field of CPD/CE in the following categories:
  • RICME - Works in Exploratory Stages/in Progress
  • RICME - Completed Studies
  • Best Practices and Innovations
  • Program Evaluation
  • Evidence and Data Informed Perspectives/Forums

Flash Mentoring

The Scholarship Committee is excited to offer a flash mentoring opportunity for the 2026 Annual Meeting. This initiative allows members to receive personalized guidance from a Scholarship Committee member, helping you refine your abstract and increase its chances of acceptance.
