SACME 2027 Call for Abstracts 

Calling all CPD/CME researchers and educators with a project, program evaluation, recently completed study, or upcoming publication to share. As part of our collective commitment to elevating CME/CPD, the SACME Program Committee invites you to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentations at the 2027 Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME) Annual Meeting, taking place May 2-5, 2027, in Montréal, Canada. This meeting will be held in person only. 

The abstract submission portal will open soon, so please keep an eye out for the announcement. The abstract submission deadline is Monday, September 21, 2026, and acceptance notifications will be sent in mid-November 2026.

Join us in reaffirming our shared dedication to excellence in lifelong learning by showcasing your scholarship, sharing lessons learned, and inspiring the community. The abstract selection committee will consider topics in research in CPD/CE (including works in progress or in the exploratory stages), program evaluations, best practices and innovations, evidence and data informed perspectives, and advancing CPD/CE practice.

Submission Types
During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to select your preferred presentation format. You may choose from the following submission types:

Oral Presentation: Oral presentations are podium presentations. Each presentation will be approximately 8–10 minutes long, followed by a 2–3 minute Q&A session. All oral presenters must register for the conference and attend in person.

Poster Presentation: Poster presenters will have 3–5 minutes to present their poster, followed by a 2–3 minute Q&A. All poster presenters must bring physical posters and must register for the conference and attend in person. 

Either: Acceptance for Oral or Poster would be acceptable.

 Submission Categories
The abstract selection committee is accepting submissions in the field of CPD/CE in the following categories:
  • RICME - Works in Exploratory Stages/in Progress
  • RICME - Completed Studies
  • Best Practices and Innovations
  • Program Evaluation
  • Evidence and Data Informed Perspectives/Forums
  • *NEW* Advancing CPD/CE Practice

Flash Mentoring

The Scholarship Committee is excited to offer a flash mentoring opportunity for the 2027 Annual Meeting. This initiative allows members to receive personalized guidance from a Scholarship Committee member, helping you refine your abstract and increase its chances of acceptance. Interested? Reach out to Jessica Walter, Chair of the Scholarship Committee, at walter@ohsu.edu, to be paired with a mentor who can provide feedback on your abstract project.
